How To Sell More Of Your Ebooks Online

Have you written an e-book? An e-book is a digital document that can be sold online in a purely digital form. Unlike the sale of a physical product, the production of an e-book is done completely online. This is great for you, the author, because you can automate the ordering process and fulfillment. 


Once you have automated the order fulfillment process, the question becomes how to market the e-book online to get people to buy it. "How do I effectively market my ebooks online?" is one of the most common questions from my clients. Here are five tips to help you sell more of your eBooks and generate more revenue:

- Find a target market to sell the e-book to. Many people think that everyone is their target market and therefore try to sell their e-book to everyone. They usually end up chasing potential customers who are not in the target market and who will probably never buy the book. Their e-book sales are suffering. 


Instead of trying to sell your e-book to everyone, focus on a small group of people who are your target market. These people are much more likely to buy what you have to offer, and as a result you will get a lot more sales. 


- Create an effective sales letter for your e-book. Since you can not take a photo of your e-book and display it on your website (unlike jewelry, for example), you should use the sales letter to promote the e-book. 


Make sure your sales letter effectively describes your e-book and focuses on the benefits that your customers get by buying your e-book. By highlighting the benefits, people get to read the sales letter and generate more e-book sales. 


- Give your customers some options on your site. Sometimes customers say that their sales letter is not sold. When I look at sales letters, it's usually a big mess. Non-selling sales letters contain too many distractions for the reader: they contain links to other web pages and websites, banners and text ads for other products. 


Make sure your sales letter only offers a few options to your customers - an option to buy the product and an option to subscribe to your newsletter, and that's it. The fewer options you give your website visitors, the more likely they are to buy your product. 





- Have a subscription letter on your website. Sometimes people who come to your site and see your e-book are not ready to buy the e-book. However, they are ready to subscribe to your newsletter and learn more about you and your products. These people will eventually be ready to buy your e-book, so be sure to stay in touch with them via your newsletter. 


- Use online marketing techniques to further market your e-book. Use search engine optimization, business blogging, article publishing and other online marketing techniques to promote your website and e-book. These methods will get more visitors to your site, longing for the information you share in your e-book. 


You can only make money with your e-book if you sell it. Follow the five tips we discussed to sell more copies of e-books and make more money.
